Hello my name is Michelle Nesbit. Since I was a little girl I have always known that I wanted to be a Chef. After graduating High School and being in the workforce for a few years, I decided to finally follow my dreams and enrolled in culinary school. At the end of 2017 I completed my diploma in culinary arts, between 2017 and 2018.
I was accepted to work on an upscale restaurant called Be Our Guest at Disney World in Orlando FL. Once I finished working there I had the pleasure of going to France for a week and learning some culinary techniques and recipes from Michelin Star Chefs. After coming back to the states I secured a job working in one if the only five star restaurants in Binghamton NY called "The Number 5" after them closing the location I pursued my passion further and started my own catering business where I cooked for Anniversary's, Parties, and Events. I have even taught a culinary class for upward bound which is a program ran by Binghamton University to help high-school students get a first hand look into the workforce and get an idea what they would like to do. Moving to North Carolina has been nothing short of a blessing and to be able to continue my passion as a chef and my love of children and put them together as a Children's Cooking instructor is such a pleasure and blessing in itself. The children are our future and the fact that I have the ability to help shape their minds and give them something to look forward to and possibly see as a career choice, I couldn't ask for anything more. I am excited to see where these culinary adventures can take us one class at a time. Ms. Michelle also teaches Alternative Baking Classes at Gilmore.
