Deionja Johnson started dancing in high school, 9th grade year. She has studied ballet, lyrical/contemporary, hip hop, jazz, pom, and tap.
She danced for step on stage academy in Smithfield from ages 14-18 years. She became a part of the dance team her freshman year of college at UNCP and then cheer and dance was combined into a spirit squad her sophomore year.
After Graduation, she came back to become assistant coach to the team and then the year after, she became coach for a year. She taught ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, and gymnastics at Just Dance Studios in Lumberton for 3 years.
She is now in a professional cheerleading team, The Hunnies, and hoping to try out to be a Hurricane cheerleader next season.
